English budgie parakeets!?

Parakeets are so cute and I am thinking of possibly getting one as my next bird, but how are they as pets? Are they more scared and timid than larger birds? Can they gt along with othe rbirds? I have a conure that has had some birds come to our house ans she was fine with them. The bird has to get along with my conure. Are they easier or harder to train than conures?
